God's Cake

I have been trying to think of a way to sum up my feelings over the last few weeks. Without going into detail. We have been faced with some interesting decisions and found many challenges along the way. I found this little quote on a friends site and it seemed so fitting for our family right now. I wanted to post this mostly for my Journal.

GOD'S CAKE
Sometimes we wonder, “What did I do to deserve this?” or “Why did God have to do this to me?” Here is a wonderful explanation!A daughter is telling her Mother how everything is going wrong, she's failing algebra, her boyfriend broke up with her and her best friend is moving away. Meanwhile, her Mother is baking a cake and asks her daughter if she would like a snack, and the daughter says, “Absolutely Mom, I love your cake.” “Here, have some cooking oil,” her Mother offers. “Yuck” says her daughter. “How about a couple raw eggs?” “Gross, Mom!” “Would you like some flour then? Or maybe baking soda?” “Mom, those are all yucky!” To which the mother replies: “Yes, all those things seem bad all by themselves. But when they are put together in the right way, they make a wonderfully delicious cake!”God works the same way. Many times we wonder why He would let us go through such bad and difficult times. But God knows that when He puts these things all in His order, they always work for good! We just have to trust Him and, eventually, they will all make something wonderful!

Beauty and the BEAST

BEAUTY
and the

THE BEAST!!

Okay so I have joined the ranks with the other half of America in making a goal to LOSE THE WEIGHT!! I am really serious this time and I am determined to see some results! I seem to be motivated by dollar signs! (It is not what you think let me explain!) We bought a treadmill, they are not cheap. I feel guilty for spending money on a treadmill. So now I feel obligated to use it. Every time I see it, I think of the money I spent. I can't help but to think I better hop on the eye sore, that now takes up half my living room, and get my moneys worth! I really feel as though it is an investment for our health, and I hope that before it loses it's novelty, I will put it to great use! Wish me luck, and to not be so sore!

OF Course the picture of the hottie at the top of the page is ME! I cannot believe you would even think it COULD be someone else!

All in a Days Work!

A couple of friends and I have gotten together and have decided to give freezer meals a try! This was our first month trying it, so we are still fine tuning it. We took a day and cooked all day! We made 12 meals for each of us for a whopping 36 meals total in one day!! I thought it was fun and a bit of a challenge to think in large quantities and to try and get the best for your buck!

At the end of the day this is what I have to fill my freezer with! I am so excited to have some good homemade meals made up and ready to go! Now if I can just bring myself to use them! I tend to want to wait and save them for the "one night" when I really need it!

All this frugal planning has been going to my head and I am ready to get organized! ( It must be the new year!) http://www.organizedhome.com I found this site that I have found a couple of ideas that I plan to implement! So I thought I would share!! I am being completely over run by paper clutter and I can't seem to get a handle on it. They had a great idea about a household notebook, and a great filing system for everyday!

Happy Birthday Jenna

Jenna just had her 5th birthday! What a fun time we had with her "Ariel princess dress-up party!" Complete with a throne!
She had 5 little princesses over for her party and I think they all had fun. Even Madelyn got dressed up for the occasion!

Kaitlyn was a great helper even though it is sometimes hard to have to give up the spotlight even for an afternoon. Kaitlyn and Jenna have been dreaming up the details of this party for weeks now! We played diamond diamond who has the diamond. And princess freeze dance. The girls all of course made crowns and LOVED the glitter glue. ( I am sure there are a few crowns that STILL haven't dried!)
I can't believe my Jenna is 5! Where does the time go!
