Beauty and the BEAST

BEAUTY
and the

THE BEAST!!

Okay so I have joined the ranks with the other half of America in making a goal to LOSE THE WEIGHT!! I am really serious this time and I am determined to see some results! I seem to be motivated by dollar signs! (It is not what you think let me explain!) We bought a treadmill, they are not cheap. I feel guilty for spending money on a treadmill. So now I feel obligated to use it. Every time I see it, I think of the money I spent. I can't help but to think I better hop on the eye sore, that now takes up half my living room, and get my moneys worth! I really feel as though it is an investment for our health, and I hope that before it loses it's novelty, I will put it to great use! Wish me luck, and to not be so sore!

OF Course the picture of the hottie at the top of the page is ME! I cannot believe you would even think it COULD be someone else!

  1. I knew right away that was you pumping iron...you hottie, you! Are you going to add a ticker to your blog so we can cheer you on? Just kidding! I am not nearly as brave as Deanna or Gina. I am very excited for you guys. If anyone could stay motivated and get there money's worth, it would be you! You are a great example! You'll be ready for the mini-marathon in no time!

  3. Jessica, ok, so about 9 months ago, Ryan and I bought a treadmill too (from one of his classmates that was getting rid of it). Super nice, and even though it was used, we too paid a lot for it. Unfortunately, I almost never use it! Not because I don't run (I just go to the gym) but because it faces the wall!! How boring!

  4. I too have an eye sore in my front room. Whenever I run on it I think to myself, I would so much rather be running outside, but then I remember that it is 15 degrees outside and I have 4 kids I would have to take along with me! That is enough to keep me happy until it warms up out there! Good luck! One thing that helps me is to turn on the T.V. and put on my headphones tunned to the same channel as the T.V.

  5. I'm still running on a treadmill I got when I was in nursing school ('96-'97). It's getting so worn out that it spontaneously speeds up or slows down and when you go to adjust the speed even to tiniest bit is starts to race, and the tread belt slips. So I envy your new, fully functional, non-spasmotic treadmill.

  6. We all know that's you in the picture! :o) BTW - you don't need a ticker b/c, unlike me, people would notice right away if you lost weight since you're already so skinny. People like me, on the other hand, need a ticker screaming out at everyone, "HEY! I lost a pound! You mean you can't tell??? Well, my ticker says so..." :o)

  7. Good luck!! I've been trying to lose weight for like a year and nothing seems to really work. I've starting lifting weights though and that is taking off inches, but not pounds. So good luck on your journey to better health!

  8. Yeah Jess! Good for you! I took a running sebatical ever since we moved, but have mad the return to the treadmill (three weeks and counting). I sure wish I was seeing some of the work-out results, but unfortunately, I tend to think that it gives me a ticket to eat what I want. Oh dear. Good luck!

  9. That's awesome Jess! Iam jealous I wish I hada treadmill in my own house, at the same time I can't complain because our apartment complex has a gym with treadmills, that is just a couple of steps away! I just wish I could do it during the day while Delia sleeps instead of waiting for christian to come home. And treadmills can be boring when staring at the same thing for 40 mins + those days are hard(when another person is occupying the T.V.)You're such a go getter, even with 3 girls, I have one and still find myself secretly complaing that I have to work out, but it is taking forever for the weight to come off. I would have to agree with Deanna, when I loes a pound I litterly flip out with excitement and want everyone to know, It takes about 2-3 weeks for me to lose 1 pound. However, my doctor diagnosed me with PCOS, and that can cause you to have a hard time losing weight! oh, yeah. Looks like baby #2 will have to wait for a while. ;) Sorry about the novel...I am so excited for you!!! Treadmills are great for the winter time!!
