Montana-itis

Okay so is it me or does it seem like the first 3 months you live somewhere new you can pretty much count on being sick! I am having flashbacks of when I first moved to Kentucky and ended up with Whooping cough! Who knows how I picked that one up, It was awful though!
Sorry, I am going to whine for just a minute.... There is one nice thing about humidity in Kentucky. My sinuses are cracking in half and I feel like my head is stuck in a watermelon here! It has been a long time since I have felt this miserable being sick, (years in fact) and all I have is a COLD! Seriously Moms don't have time to be sick. And when they are life just goes on as normal. There is no napping, no extra hot shower to breath, no one making hot cider etc... sigh. Life goes on with hot dinner on the table, laundry done, toilets sparkling etc. I guess I should be grateful I am still capable of doing all those things, because if I wasn't I would most likely be DEAD!

  1. I am so sorry that you are sick. It should be a rule that moms never get sick. We don't get a sick day so we shouldn't ever have to get sick!! If you need anything let me know, my week is pretty free.

  2. Tis the calling of a mother.... if you had only moved to Spokane, I'd be cleaning your toilets and watching your kids so you could take a long hot shower... oh well! Guess I'll have to do my own... ya, right!

  4. And our days keepon going. It is interesting that when the dad gets sick he stays home and naps and because wives are awesomeweusually take great care of them. But it's not like they CAN do that for us. They have to work, unless we get them sick and blah, blah, blah. Bumber deal.

  5. Oh Jessica, you sound miserable.... Well.... you may still be miserable getting the toilets to sparkle while you are not feeling well.... but the least I can do, is to get some chicken noodle soup, and hot cider in the mail to you!! Tia

  6. I've said it before and I'll say it again - you wear the Superwoman cape ONE TIME and they expect you to wear it everyday...

  7. LOL at Missy's comment!! :o)

We've have Colorado-itis, too. It's weird that it takes a year to adjust. Cracked feet, dry noses, headaches - who ever thought humidity could be a blessing??

Ron was sick on Sunday, and I wanted to belt him a good one by the end of the day b/c of the whine! I know his sinus infections can get really bad, but no fair! I'd LOVE a day in bed!!!

  8. You know, you aren't helping me be so excited about moving when you remind me that will probably be screaming in a few weeks when my nose explodes because of the dryness. But I am excited to leave now that Watterson is threatening to take my kid away. LONG STORY...(ok, I am exaggerating just a tad, but really not a ton)

  10. UGH! I know how you are feeling! Our lame doctor here told us it would take a year to adjust, and sure enough every time the seasons start to change we all get slammed with a cold! And i am just getting used to how dry it is! Good for you on the hot dinner on the table...even when I feel fine that seems to be the one thing I just can't accomplish!

  11. Oh well i hope you are feeling better now... I haven't been sick yet with now having Karlee - so I am not too excited about all that a mother still has to do when not feeling better. Sorry!

  12. Wow, Montana is so beautiful! Todd wants us to go there for our Anniversary in May. We were in Kalispell. I really hope you enjoy it there! They have some really great parks, at least in Kalispell. Beware...it is NO sky country in the winter...as in only clouds clouds and more clouds. Enjoy the beauty!

  13. Thanks for the love, and for listening to me whine for a minute. I think I am on the uphill road to recovery, I hope!
Thanks for the care package Tia, that made my day!

  14. Wow! I didn't even need to move to get a sinus infection. I have a good doc now, though. Jessica I wish you were here to share him with me. I HATE sinus infections and can totally remember those days when as you said you just keep on keepin' on. Hope you are feeling better SOON. Tell Joe he better be good to you and feed you ice cream and soup or I'll tell him another story that ends with, "And then he . . . !" (chortle.)
